Today was one of those "Special" Days. I woke up, got ready, shipped something to Colorado, and went about my day. I was able to do a little shopping with one of my best friends, go out and eat, and just have a wonderful day! Well, that soon ended around 1:30. I was on my way home, but decided to stop at the bank and deposit some money into our checking account. As I was about to turn into the parking lot, I hear a strange sound from the back. I look back and Ember is throwing her guts up! It wasn't just a little, it was TONS AND TONS! Well I stopped to make sure she was okay and breathing, and when I decided that she was okay I proceeded to turn into the parking lot. JUST BEFORE I could even park, Ember starts throwing up MORE! TONS AND TONS! This time she started turning purple. (She was laying in a car-seat and couldn't get it to come out). Well I freaked out, almost forgot to put the car in park (oh and p.s. I wasn't in a parking spot yet, nope I was in the middle of the drive lane to take a parking spot), flew out my door, went to open her door to get her out as fast as I could, BROKE the car door handle, FINALLY got her out and was able to sit her up so she could get it out. I was almost in tears when a guy came up and said, "Holy Hell (Sorry about the word), that's a lot of puke" followed by, "What can I do to help?" Normally I would be embarrassed to ask for anything in that situation, I mean who wants to mess with puke in any form? But I was too scared about Ember to even think about embarrassment. I simply asked for him to get my Diaper Bag. He grabbed her blanket and diaper bag, then nicely parked my car for me as I was helping Ember. EVERYTHING WAS SOAKED! The throw up had pooled in her car-seat. Tons of it. It was all over the seat in the car and on the floor. HORRIBLE! I thought, "I should just go and get it detailed so someone else can vacuum all of this." It got all cleaned up thanks to my Husband. He is so amazing. He got the carpet cleaner from his Parents and Cleaned the entire back seat while I was dealing with the baby-seat and Ember. People say that babies are over the choking on throw up stage around 6 months...not mine, so needless to say, I am still afraid of letting her sleep in her own room at nite due to fear of death by choking on throw up.
Still shaky most of the rest of the day, Jason made is better by stating, "Well, that is a mothers strength in times of fear." (Talking about the door handle) "You done broked it clean off." Oh how I love him for making everything better!
Today I was a witness of true Love for a Child! A Mother will do anything to insure that her baby is safe, even if it means breaking the door handle from a non-parked car!
